From an event without a permanent grandstand in 2008, DIFF entered a completely new phase of development starting in 2017, when it began receiving sponsorship and organizational support from Sun Group — the developer behind iconic landmarks of Da Nang such as Sun World Ba Na Hills with the world-famous Golden Bridge, and the ultra-luxurious InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. With increasingly professional organization, the festival has been heavily invested in infrastructure, featuring a grandstand system with a capacity of more than 10,200 seats per night and a stage spanning over 1,600 square meters. Beyond infrastructure upgrades, DIFF has continuously expanded in both the number of participating teams and accompanying artistic activities, establishing itself as a truly international-scale festival of Vietnam.
In an effort to realize the vision of positioning Da Nang as a global fireworks destination, the city has recently approved a land auction plan to implement the International Fireworks Festival Complex project, with a total estimated investment of up to VND 10,750 billion. In the future, as the international fireworks complex and free trade zone take shape, the role of major investors such as Sun Group will become increasingly crucial in ensuring sustainable development and leading trends in tourism, technology, and urban development.
